Reaching Nowhere Else But Up
Reaching Nowhere Else But Up
Rachel Daniels
When you figure out whats important
Everything becomes smaller including the sky
And sometimes you miss the times
When life just passed you by
Waiting for you alone
All the standards are set
There is no other choice, no other option
If the goals arent met
You feel the pressure of all the eyes
Seemingly focused on you
You swing and you miss
Theres nothing left to do
Except to keep swinging
And block out the world
To concentrate on that spot, the one right there
And to reach it, you must become a bird
Spreading your wings
Learning to fall
Feeling the air
And at last, you fly tall
Listen and Watch
Rachel Daniels
The thunder is deadly, they say
But I am not scared
This is the place where I love to be
Amid the chaos
Of a hundred drops of rain
Scattered around, as I try to figure out the pattern that they fall in
They twirl, they slide, they pour down around me
If you listen closely,
They sigh when they land on the pavement
Back where they were time after time
The clouds roll, calling winds to follow
Sometimes they listen
And they make their lazy way to another place
And sometimes they stay
Its like beautiful music to my eyes
A mix of chaotic, sweet, temperamental, tender, nervous, shy, unpredictable
Just how I like it
