Subject: Language Arts

Grade: 2nd-3rd

Lesson Objective: Students will learn nouns, verbs, and adjectives through visual
and audio activities.

NETS-T Standards:
1A. Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and
inventiveness
2A. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital
tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity

Materials:
One computer with Microsoft office
One projector with screen and speakers

Procedure:
1. Before the lesson, type up a list of nouns, verbs, and adjectives mixed
together on Microsoft word.
2. Begin the lesson by asking students if anyone knows what nouns, verbs, or
adjectives are, and hold a short class discussion on their ideas.
3. Then, give students the definition of nouns, verbs, and adjectives, and list
some examples of each.
4. Next, present the students with a visual model of nouns, verbs, and adjectives
(like this poster I found on Google, for example).

5. Then, hook the computer up to the projector and play a short cartoon video
that further explains nouns, verbs, and adjectives to the students.
6. To get the students actively engaged and to practice their newly learned
knowledge of nouns, verbs, and adjectives, go through the typed out list with
the students and have them call out whether the word is a noun, verb, or
adjective as a whole class.
7. At the end of the lesson, you can give students a worksheet homework
assignment or follow-up quiz to assess their understanding of nouns, verbs,
and adjectives.
