Dear Senator Kaine,

The legislation addressing the issue to eliminate alleged violent video games from the market is a
paramount interest to me because I believe that many individuals have been influenced into gun
violence because of violent video games. Violent video games are the apotheosis of today's
gaming industry and should be limited. This issue directly impacts the adolescence with supple
minds that are easily influenced, especially at a young age. I am primarily concerned about
violent games being a major factor to gun violence because there have been numerous accounts
of gun attacks due to video games. For example, investigators stated that Adam Lanza, a gunman
who killed 20 children and 7 adults in Newton, played violent video games. In another account,
Anders Breivik, who killed 69 at a youth camp stated he trained for his attack by playing a
violent video game. In July 2012, an alleged shooter contained multiple videogames with violent
elements in their apartment as well.

I look forward to your reply expressing your opinion, and you current stance on the issue. Thank
you for your consideration of my viewpoint on this matter. I believe it is an important issue, and
would like to see the legislation pass.

Sincerely,

Rachel Tran
