Im so proud to have heard the news that Community Hospital has been re-designated a Baby-Friendly hospital through 2018. This wonderful accomplishment was achieved through the teamwork and dedication of the Maternal Child Health, L&D, Couplet Care, NICU and Pediatric teams who are committed to practices that lead to improved health outcomes for babies and mothers in our community.
Being Baby-Friendly recognizes that we continue to offer the gold standard of care in providing breast-feeding mothers the information, confidence and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breast-feeding their babies.
These continued best practices are the key to our success. Thank you for all that you continue to do in providing outstanding care and service to our patients.
Community Hospital was re-designated a Baby-Friendly hospital by Baby Friendly USA, the accrediting body for the World Health Organizations initiation to encourage mothers to breast-feed their infants. Achieving the Baby-Friendly designation is not an easy task. However, the quality of care provided, the resulting decrease in morbidity and mortality association with optimal breast-feeding, and customer satisfaction are well worth the commitment.

The good news that is over 20 other Dignity Health hospitals have already implemented EHR, and we are the fortunate benefactors of those best practice learnings.
