On June 3
rd
, 2014 at approximately 2206 hrs. Hibbing Police Officers, along with Deputies with
the St. Louis County Sheriffs Office and Chisholm Police Department responded to the 100
block of 37
th
St. East for a report of an assault involving a firearm.

A perimeter was set up by blocking streets near the incident location. Officers were able to
evacuate the residence and a search began for the suspect. The suspect was located inside the
residence. The suspect resisted arrest but was ultimately taken into custody. A search warrant
was obtained which allowed officers to process the scene and search the residence to recover
items of evidence including the handgun.

The victim, a 44 year old female, and suspect, Robert Dean Johnson (51), are related and reside
together.

Robert Dean Johnson is expected to be charged with Felony 2
nd
Degree Assault and
Misdemeanor Domestic Assault.

No shots were fired, no officers were injured, and the victims injuries were relatively minor as
she did not seek medical attention.
