Public Notice
The Huntersville Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of the Commission on
Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) Accreditation Process to achieve re-
accreditation by verifying it meets more than 400 professional law enforcement standards.
Administered by CALEA, the accreditation program requires law enforcement agencies to comply with
national best practices and professional standards in nine areas of law enforcement: Role,
responsibilities and relationships with other agencies; organization, management and administration,
personnel structure, personnel procedure, operations, operational support, traffic operations, prisoner and
court related activities and auxiliary and technical services.
As part of the on-site assessment, the public is invited to offer comments by calling 704-464-5505 on
Monday, June 16, 2014 between 1 PM until 3 PM. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.
Also, the public is invited to attend a public hearing at the Huntersville Police Department, Monday, June 16,
at 5:30 PM to offer comments to the Assessment Team regarding the Departments ability to comply with
CALEAs standards.
Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the Huntersville Police Departments
ability to comply with CALEA's standards. A copy of the standards is available in the Town of Huntersville
lobby, located at 101 Huntersville Concord Road, Huntersville, NC 28078 as well as the Huntersville Police
Department lobby, located at 9630 Julian Clark Avenue, Huntersville, NC 28078. Local contact person is

Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Huntersville Police Departments ability to comply
