Protein Parathas ( Fun Food For Children) by Tarla Dalal

Whole wheat parathas enhanced with paneer and spring onions, this is a wonderful choice for
your kids snack box, as the addition to protein and calcium rich paneer keeps the parathas
nice and soft even in the afternoon. Pack it with a tomato-based accompaniment and curds to
boost the protein content.
Preparation Time: 10 mins Cooking Time: 15 mins Makes 6 parathas
Ingredients
1/2 cup grated paneer (cottage cheese)
2 spring onions , finel chopped
!/" cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
2 green chillies , finel chopped salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste

Ingredients
2/! tsp cumin seeds (eera)
2/! cup chopped onions
2/! tsp ginger!green chilli paste
2/! tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
1 1/" cups chopped tomatoes
# pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
2/! tsp chilli powder
2/! tsp garam masala
2/! tsp sugar
1 1/" cups %oiled fresh green peas
1 !/" cups potatoes , %oiled , peeled and cut into cu%es
salt to taste
1 1/" t%sp chopped coriander (dhania) for the garnish
Method
!. :eat a non-stick kadhai on a medium flame and when hot, add the cumin seeds and
dry roast for about !; seconds.
#. 4dd the onions and cook till they turn brown while stirring continuously.
'. 4dd the ginger-green chilli paste, garlic paste and tomatoes and simmer till the
tomatoes are cooked.
-. 4dd the turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala, sugar, peas and potatoes and
