Pneumatic Control Valve Positioner

A positioner would be used if:

Valve is remote from controller
There is high pressure difference across valve
Medium under control is viscous
There is high glandpressure

Control air acts on top of synthetic rubber diaphragm, increasing air pressure causes
valve to move down.

Control air signal acts, via bellows and springs, between two extremities of flapper and
fixes its position relative to nozzle, dependent on magnitude of control pressure signal.
