Abstract
Education in our country is facing a great challenge of reforms and fast adjustment
to the demands of the developed countries, as well as intensive changes in science, technology and social relations in general. The fundamental goal of teaching is to transfer system of essential knowledge and values to the students and to oer them stable theoretical
frames and develop abilities, rst of all the possibility of permanent self-education. Thus,

the teachers should be qualied rst to apply active methods in teaching and then through
them to train students for this type of education, i.e. active participation in the process of
education.
Todays analyses have shown that the curricula and education processes are not student-oriented, but they are focused on the teacher and the subject matter. Therefore,
changes in the process of teaching should be done in order to change conditions which is
possible through application of active methods.
