Profile
An energetic, young undergraduate student. A jack of all trades always eager about the next
task. Very flexible and quick at learning. Curious about the unknown and unafraid of trying
new things.

Qualifications
 Languages: English, French, German and Italian fluently. Conversational Spanish and Swiss-
German. Rudimentary knowledge of Moroccan Arabic.

 Very familiar with computer programs such as Excel, Word or PowerPoint.

 Basic knowledge of C++ programming.

Education
 ETH Zürich (since September 2007), major: Biotechnology with exchange to
University of Toronto for one year: Was ranked top 5% of my class after the first year
(Summer 2007). Am now on exchange to University of Toronto for my third year of
undergraduate studies. My current GPA is 3.6.

 Gymnase de Nyon, high school diploma: Maturité Suisse (July 2007): Graduated within
top 10% of my class

Work experience
 Volunteering in Guatemala (Summer 08): Worked within the fields of construction,
reforestation, education. I have learned commitment to others and to the work done. An intense
experience do to constant exposition to extreme poverty.

 Internship at Doctors Without Borders (October. 06): I took care of recruiting


information for their internal magazine. Interviewing employees on their experiences on the
field.

 Internship at Serono (now Merck-Serono) (Summer 06): I was working in the


packaging section of this biotechnology firm. I had to coordinate the well-functioning of the
packaging.

 Giving evening classes to children (January-June 06): Taught history, French, math
and geography. My students were up to 14 years old (I was 16).

 Leader of a computer simulation project (2004): Aged 14, I created a team of


computer programmers to design a computer simulation of funfair rides. We sold 3000 copies of
them on the internet.
Additional experience
➢ Academic Director and counsel member at student residence (since
September 09): In a residence of over 1000 students. The 8 members of council organize
weekly events such as game shows, talent shows, balls, trips abroad, gallery nights.

➢ University of Toronto Entrepreneurial Society (since September 09): I am part of


the events committee which organizes talks by professors or experts. Also participated in a few
sales amongst which selling foldable bikes on campus.

 Model United Nations (since September 08): The last conference I attended was in
April in New York, in the headquarters of the United Nations. In order to finance that trip, I was
the head-organizer of a major student party attended by 500 students and with a staff of 50
people.

 Theater classes (2008): Taking improvisation classes since a year. Appeared in a few
performances in Zürich.

 Learning German in Berlin (July-August 08): I graduated from high school on July 1st
and in September I would start university in German, language I didn't speak at all. I assimilated
the whole language in 2 months by intensive studying (over 7 hours a day).

 Phillips Exeter Academy Summer school (Summer 06): Took courses of


speechmaking, economics & business and debating, which was a complementary academic
experience to the courses I usually take in life sciences.

 Sports: I have played tennis at near national level. Trainers: Georges Deniau (ex-Davis Cup
trainer), Guy Forget (current captain of the French team. Was world-ranked: number 3), Jonas
Svensson (was world-ranked: number 9). I have done Gymnastics for 4 years and Viet-Vodao, the
Vietnamese martial art for a year.

 Piano: For 4 years.

 Places of residence: Geneva, Puerto Rico: San Juan, Berlin, Zürich and Toronto.
