Banned Adverts

By Michaela McCole
Pot Noodle
An internet advert that compared a scantily
clad woman to a spicy Pot Noodle has been
banned for being 'crass and degrading'.
The advert shows a man on the bus, eating a
pot noodle when the woman comes in and
then the advert becomes quite explicit and
shows scenes of this.
This fits into the cap code of 23
Telecommunications-based sexual
entertainment services and maybe 30
Pornography.
The techniques that are used to shock is the
explicit scenes as this is something that you
wouldnt expect to see on TV for viewers out
there.
The purpose of the advert was simply to
show people their new pot noodle out.

Skittles
This advert shows explicit content, and it
has scenes that it made to look quite
sexual. This is why it has been banned as
this is something that shouldnt be on TV
for anyone to watch.
This fits into the cap code of 23
Telecommunications-based sexual
entertainment services and maybe 30
Pornography.
The techniques that are used to shock
viewers is the sexual sounds and the
sexual scenes as this is something that
not every TV advert has and it isnt
expected to be published onto TV.
The message/purpose of the advert was
to show people their product which is
skittles and get people to buy it.

MasterCard
This advert shows scenes of
violence, this is why it was banned
as this shouldnt be showed on TV.
The violence shown should have
been censored or just not shown at
all.
The cap code which it fits into is 04
Harm and offence
The techniques they use is the
violence as this may attract viewers
to view the advert and this may also
shock them.
The purpose is simply to tell people
about MasterCard and I believe
there was no need for the violence
in this advert.
