Affordable Care Act, Medicare and Medicaid,
among many other duties. A yes vote was to
confirm Burwell.

Sharon Bowen Confirmation: Senators
confirmed, 48-46, Sharon Y. Bowen to serve
on the Commodities Futures Trading
Commission, which regulates derivatives
markets to guard against the sort of fraud that
helped cause the 2008 financial collapse. A
yes vote was to confirm Bowen.

Keith Harper Confirmation: Senators
confirmed, 52-42, Keith M. Harper as U.S.
ambassador to the U.N. Human Rights
Council. A yes vote was in support of Harper
despite criticism of his role as an attorney for
Native Americans in a class-action settlement
with the Department of the Interior.
In the week of June 9, the Senate will debate a bill to improve
veterans healthcare and possibly take up a bill to expand hunting and
fishing rights under federal law. The House schedule was to be
announced.
