Giving and Receiving

Hello there and welcome to Six Minutes. This is about Cause and Effect. What I want to
talk to you about today is giving and receiving. Some people know how to give, but
they dont know how to receive. Now the truth is, they really dont know how to give
because giving and receiving are exactly the same thing. You should willingly give and
graciously receive.

Now if you are very awkward when people give you things, I dont care if its just a
compliment, you havent learned this yet. We want to willingly give. Think of thisif I am
giving something to you or someone else, you are an expression of the universe I am
putting good into the universe. The universe is going to send it back. Now when it
comes back it probably wont come back from the person you gave to, it will come
from someone else. It may come from someone that you never had the opportunity to
help and youd never be able to repay. Graciously receive it. Practice being gracious
in receiving. Willingly give, graciously receive.

I want you to write this down and I want you to think about it. I want you to discuss it
with people. Because theres a lot of people that will give, give, give and they think
that its going to do them some goodbut they dont know how to receive. Youve got
to learn that this is a double-edged sword. Giving and receiving are exactly the same
thing. Its a great lesson to learn. I love the way J ane Willhite puts it, she says givers gain.
J ane is a giver but Im going to tell you somethingshe also knows how to receive. She
has no difficulty if I offer help in a certain area, shell take it just like that. And do you
know something? Its reciprocal. Weve got a great relationship like that. Giving and
