Overview
Students will take what they learned from transcription, translation, and
replication and manipulate beads to show how each of these works.
Objectives
Demonstrate understanding of transcription through the manipulation of
beads.
Demonstrate understanding of translation through the manipulation of beads.
Demonstrate understanding of replication through the manipulation of beads.
Activities
Students will be in groups of at least 2.
They will manipulate the beads for each action.
They will record their manipulations and explain what is happening to the
DNA and RNA as they are manipulating the beads.
If the students have time they can edit their videos and do voiceovers to
explain what is happening in transcription, translation, and replication.
Evaluation
The students videos will be looked at as an evaluation to see if
they understand the processes.
