Mission: To provide family-focused therapeutic and recreational equine-related


activities for persons with disabilities, their siblings, and their peers (in a non-
discriminating program: enhancing physical, emotional, spiritual and mental
health for the participants through the service of horses).

Individuals Served: Children and adults with disabilities and their families.
Over 100 students each year in a seven-county area of southeastern Minnesota

Classes offered: Four sessions per year. Youth (4yr-21yr) sessions offered in June and
July. Adult sessions offered in the Spring and Fall. Private lessons also available.
*Most sessions are offered once a week on Monday or Tuesday evenings.

Rider Fee: $100.00 for a 5 week session. $30.00 for a 1 hour private lesson.
*Partial scholarships available upon request, some special funding to provide full
scholarships.

Primary Funding Sources: United Way, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, MN
Horse Council, Pine Island United Fund, People In Business Care, Shjon Podein Children’s
foundation, area business sponsors, horse sponsorships, memberships, class fees and
private and corporate sponsors.

Fund Raisers: Nathan Schmidt Memorial Luncheon & Silent Auction, Barn Dance &
Silent Auction, Raffle drawing, RideAThon, Kwik Trip milk-moola, Kwik Cards, and more.

Donation Opportunities: Financial contributions, memberships, in-kind donations,


equipment, office supplies, prizes for our students and volunteers, and more.

Volunteer Opportunities: … sidewalking, horse-leading, volunteering your horse,


instructing, assisting classes, fundraising, grounds-keeping, and more.
