Dear Ban Ki-Moon,

Globalization is turning the world into an advanced economy instead of isolated

ones. The more trading that takes place, the more wealth is created, and global trade across
international borders has created more wealth the ever before! Globalization gives poorer
countries the chance to sell their labor onto world markets. It brings the investment that creates
jobs, and although those jobs pay less than their counterparts do in rich economies, they
represent a step up for people in recipient countries because they usually pay more than the
traditional jobs there.

Globalization offers the richer countries lower cost goods from abroad. It also brings
opportunities for productive investment in high growth industries in developing countries.

Right now The United Nations is working to end the bloodshed in Syria, Central African
Republic, South Sudan, Mali and Libya, and you are also working very hard to help de-escalate
tension in Ukraine. I understand that you have a lot on your hands. You are also determined to
deepen global foundations of peace and security through your efforts to advance development,
create decent jobs and protect human rights. I give a lot of credit to you keeping up with the
world and trying to make it a better place I would just like to say thank you.

Sincerely,
Annie Okonski
