In the sampling process the universe which we created for our project is divided
into 3 age groups i;e
12-18 years of age 18-25 years of age 25-30 years of age The brainstorming besides dividing into 3 groups were that they all belong to different ages, so they have different reasons for indulging into drugs, they have different mind sets in respect to maturity, experience and knowledge. Friend group is different even their position, responsibility and exposure differs from each other. The questionnaire which we designed for the age group of 12-18 years was altogether different from the other age groups. We designed our questions keeping the realm into consideration. We chosen up this age of people because this is the initial stage when anyone can fall into the trap of any kind of addiction. During this age group there is high possibility of getting into any kind of addiction. The whole thinking for setting up the questionnaire for this age group is more focused on their academic environment, parents control and peer influence. While framing the questionnaire for the age group of 18-25 years, our focus of questions shifted from the academic background to their current relationship and the professional life they have. People under this age group have more opportunities to explore around, have a large friend circle, and deals with different personalities and situations. Even They have a high possibility of getting addicted to drugs. Than comes the age group of 25-50 years. People are married during this time, has a family to take care of, financial and other responsibilities lies on them, so the questionnaire we made keeping in mind all these things into consideration and framed the questions such that we can directly relate them to our project and our aim of understanding drug addicts with these people. Whether we divided our target populations into 3 age groups still at the back end our aim was to make them feel comfortable in answering the questions. Drug addicts in all the 3 age groups were a distinct universe which we created for our project.
