Plot = a secret plan made by several people to do something that is wrong, harmful, or not legal,

especially to do damage to a person or a government:


The plot was discovered before it was carried out.

Scope = the opportunity for doing something: There is limited scope for further reductions in the
workforce
Flout = to intentionally not obey a rule, law, or custom:
Many motorcyclists flout the law by not wearing helmets.
The orchestra decided to flout convention/tradition, and wear their everyday clothes for the
concert.
Mend = to repair something that is broken or damaged:
Could you mend this hole in my shirt?
I've left my watch at the jeweller's to be mended.
The plumber came to mend the burst pipe.
The country's president is seeking to mend relations with the United States.
Token = (SYMBOL)
something that you do, or a thing that you give someone, that expresses your feelings or intentions,
although it might have little practical effect:
As a token of our gratitude for all that you have done, we would like you to accept this small gift.
It doesn't have to be a big present - it's just a token.
