insert needle at 90' angle (or reccomended angle according to
hospital policy) using short sharp action
inject medication (10sec/ml)
withdraw needle smoothly and rapidly, discard of needle
do not massage site but apply pressure if bleeding occurs
ensure patient comfort
document procedure and problems and sign drug chart
check site 2-4 hours later
