chrome-nickel alloy, is also an excellent diaphragm
material for applications with wide temperature
swings and high cycle life. It is also compatible with a
wide range of gases.
However, outlet pressure ratings are limited due to
possible diaphragm rupture. This is a consequence
of high pressure loading on the underside of the
diaphragm and only atmospheric pressure on the top
side of the diaphragm (Figure 17). TESCOM limits
the use of diaphragms to outlet pressures up to a
maximum of 500 psig / 34.5 bar.
Diaphragms are made of the following materials:
