Weeping Willow

By Aly

A weeping willow casting shadows now

Its arms wide open droop to meet the ground
The raindrops thunder down the arched-back brow
A windy bluster tears through branches browned

The willow sheds its tears and lends a hand

To all the young trees buried, lost and hurt
They wallow, sadness drooping to the sand
But strength just pierces through and feeds the dirt

Her figure’s sad and droopy on outside

But soft and kind on inside branching limbs
She shuns the world and dims the lights to hide
Though unseen beauty hides beneath her trim

The willows need appreciation, too

You must look deep to find the beauty true.
