Competitor Analysis
I carried out a competitor analysis to find how popular music videos of
similar artists were within the genre.

Competitor Analysis
I also looked at other charts to see how popular
the different artists were. This included the iTunes
top 100 songs, iTunes music video charts and
MTVs official UK top 40.
The artists that featured in the iTunes top 100
songs are Imagine Dragons at 7, Bastille at 33
and Arctic Monkeys at 98.
In the MTV official UK top 40, Bastille are at the
number 2 spot.

Advertising Placement
After looking on BARB I found that the best channels to advertise on would be ITV and Channel 4,
this is because they have a relatively high weekly reach and broadcast shows that are likely to be
viewed by the target audience making the advertisement more likely to be seen.

After carrying out a focus group I found that the majority of
music videos are viewed on YouTube, and that YouTube is
the place where an individual of the target audience is most
likely to see an advert. Because of this it is worth taking into
consideration Advertising on online platforms such as
YouTube and other social media sites as it is where younger
people spend more of their time and also allows for direct
access to the music video as well as the ability to share the
music video with other people expanding the amount of
attention it will receive.
