Qualifications of a Hero
Selflessness
Jesus emptied Himself for us
Jesus expressed genuine compassion
Matthew 9:36
But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered,
like sheep having no shepherd.
Charity is more common than compassion. Charity is tax-deductible. Compassion
requires that you invest your heart and soul into another. ~ unknown
Humility
Matthew 11:29 (NIV)
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls.
God became man
John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father, full of grace and truth.
On the cross
Philippians 2:7-8

Servanthood

Willingness to die
The greatest love of all

God gave His best when we were at our worst
