For my community
project, I have chosen
to volunteer at a Day
Care for children of the
ages 1-5.
I chose this specific
age group because this
is when the young
mind is starting to
develop, l wanted to
make a positive
influence in the
children, as well as be
a part of their learning.

The Minds Of Children
In the Day Care that l volunteered at
the learning system was based on the
Montessori Method.

What Is The Montessori Method?
The Montessori Method is was
created by italian born Maria
Montessori.
Its based on independence, freedom
(within limits) and respect for a child's
natural psychological, physical, and
social development.


When Is It Used?
The montessori method can be used
from 6 month 18 years of age.
Its used in most Preschools,
Elementry Schools, Post Secondary,
and even, Secondary schools.

Why Should It Be Used?
I believe that all schools should use
this method because it not only helps
academically but it also helps social. It
helps children become good,
sophisticated people.
What l Learned About My Experience
I have learned that a childs mind is nothing to be
joking around with because the right education is
needed at this stage of the childs mind because
they learn so much so fast. I also learned that
teachers have a huge inpact in the childs learning
because the teacher teaches every thing, also the
parents have to carry out with the learning at home
too. This experience it has taught me to not take a
teachers work for granted, and to be more
responsible because l had to think of others before
myself. And to respect others more and to respect
myself and my pearsonal area.
