Evaporation-Induced Self-Assembly

Evaporation-induced self-assembly is one of the most promising techniques for fabricating nanoscale
structures of a desired morphology. Before such a process can be implemented, the numerous physical
effects at work, as well as their interplay, needs to be understood and modeled. This review collates
attempts to model evaporation-induced self-assembly of nanoparticles on substrates. Analytical,
thermodynamic, stochastic, mechanical, dynamic and combinatorial approaches are covered.
