: VECTOR 2008

VECTOR 2008 concluded on Saturday, 20.12.2008 and Valedictory function was

held at 4.15 pm.

About 100 students from other Colleges participated in the events. Some of them
have brought very good projects. According to the judges, the student team can
apply for a patent. In general, people appreciated the organizers. It would be
more effective if teachers take a proactive role in guiding the student teams.
Among the students also, very few students seem to be really working and the
distribution of work is not properly done. The collection of registration fees from
the participants is also not streamlined and is not fool proof. Before some body
complains of misappropriation (whether true or false), Faculty coordinators
should think it over and design a fool proof system.

Another striking incident is that no staff member, except the three invitees on to
the dais, and the faculty coordinator, is present in the Valedictory function. May
be, the Team Vector has not informed and invited the staff. But this shows a very
bad picture of the Institute. Management, form time to time, have expressed their
concern about non-participation of staff members in such functions.

Every one of us have to take this seriously and when not engaged in class/lab.
Work, should make it.

Faculty Coordinators have to take care of such issues and should extend
invitation.

We can improve the total quality of such events if show a little more concern. Let
us do that.
