High School Chemistry

Classroom Rules:
1. Arrive on time.
- So that class is able to begin without distraction and time is able to be used
effectively.
2. Be prepared for the day.
- In order to have a class atmosphere that facilitates new learning and increased
productivity.
3. Be respectful of yourself and others.
- So that the classroom can be a positive space that enables the student to
achieve.
4. Have a positive attitude.
- So that the student can view their mistakes as a learning opportunity and not a
failure.

Consequences:
1. Verbal Warning
2. One-on-one conversation with teacher.
3. Asked to leave classroom or referral to office.
4. Call to home to parent or guardian.
5. Contacting extra-curricular teachers or coaches.

Rewards:
1. Genuine concise praise.
2. Computer privileges.
3. Making good grades.
4. Contact with parent.
5. Opportunities to assist with classroom demonstrations.

Procedures:
1. Class will begin with an assignment in order to facilitate students arrival in a timely
manner and focus their attention on that days lesson.
2. The teacher will listen so that the expectation of actively listening with respect is being
modeled by the teacher and copied by the students.
3. Students will be expected to work in groups to benefit from cooperative learning by
having the opportunity to model and demonstrate a respectful attitude.
4. Students will be administered tests so that teacher can assess the knowledge acquired by
the students.
