Purpose of Assignment The traditional practice for teachers who interview for teaching positions has been to bring a portfolio of their work to the interview; however, more recent technological advancements allow for teachers to create electronic versions of portfolios. This provides one with the ability to submit electronic documents to potential employers through the use of a website. The purpose of this assignment is two-fold: (1) to acclimate you to the convenience of creating an online portfolio; and (2) to provide you with the time to create a portfolio of your work before an interview arises. Creating a portfolio is a work-in progress the more experience we gain, the more we add to our portfolios. As such, we only ask that you form a working copy of an e-portfolio. A possible set-up to follow when creating the e-portfolio can consist of, but is not limited to, sections consisting of: 1. Philosophy of Education 2. Resume 3. List of Endorsements 4. Sample Unit and/or Lesson Plans 5. Reference Letters 6. Your Contact Information
