This free download is meant to get your students familiar with building graphs in

Word. The chart feature is used to help expose students to a template within
Excel. Any changes made in Excel, reflect in your Word Document chart. No Excel
files are saved.

If youve never used the chart feature in Word, to have students edit the
template:
Click on the inserted chart.

At the top of the ribbon, under Chart Tools, select the Design tab.

Use the Edit Data option to bring up the split screen between Word and
Excel.

Make changes to the graph title, categories and numeric entries. Then, close
the Excel tab.

All data is saved in your Word Document chart.

Then, have students answer questions to interpret their data.

Feel free to change the questions at the bottom. I used the developer tab to
add in the text sections for them to type their answers.






Take a minute to look at the data presented in the tally chart. Your job is to create
a bar graph to represent the data.
