INFECTIOUS DISEASE FOLLOW-UP NOTE

HISTORY OF PRESENT ILLNESS: Rosa Diaz is a 58-year-old lady with history of

recent gluteal abscess. She underwent an incision and drainage and is currently receiving
outpatient antibiotics and wound care. She has no complaints. She feels better.

OBJECTIVE: The right gluteal area reveals no indurations. There is much reduced ulcer
measuring 1 x 1 cm with mostly pink granulation tissues in the base. There is no
purulence expressible.

IMPRESSION:
1. Gluteal abscess, resolving.
2. Uncontrolled diabetes.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Continue wound care.
2. Complete antibiotics.
3. Return as needed.

The coordination of care was 25 minutes.
