Chris Martin was born in Exeter, Devon, on 2

nd

March 1977. He is a musician in an English
band called Coldplay. He is the eldest of five
children. His father, Anthony Martin, is a
retired accountant, and his mother, Alison
Martin, is a music teacher. Chris attended
pre-preparatory Hylton School and then went
to preparatory Exeter Cathedral School,
where he formed his first band The Rocking
Honkies. Chris continued his studies at
University College London. There, he met his
future Coldplay bandmates Jonny Buckland,
Will Champion and Guy Berryman. In January
1998, they formed the rock band Coldplay.
Since then, they have released albums,
including: Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head, X&Y, Viva la Vida or Death and
All His Friends, and Mylo Xyloto.
His famous quotations are: Coldplay fans are the best in the world. If you like
Coldplay then you're obviously very intelligent and good looking and all-around
brilliant. and It seems surreal that we're going to play concerts again, because I
haven't met anyone who likes us for two years..
His band is well known all over the world and they have sold over 50 million
records worldwide.
