Each step was first connected to the NGSS, and then categorized into main idea and grade level. From there, I was in charge of organizing the grade level main ideas so that each had 2 STEPS and a corresponding Engineering Center. Crossroads Instructor April 2013-May 2013 I created and led an after school science class for 4 th and 5 th grade students for six weeks called Mad Scientists. In this time I taught the students physical science topics such as chemical properties and change and density.
