This article was about the findings of three black holes at a galaxy's core.
Originally, researchers thought that there were only two black holes because they were
so close together. It was thought that triplet black holes were about 7,825 light-years
apart, but this new evidence shows that they are only 455 light-years apart, which is
very close for a pair of black holes. Knowing the tendencies of black holes can help us
understand the evolution of galaxies with blast of energy given off by their turbulent
matter. With the new technique called Very Long Baseline Interferometry, it is 50 times
easier to see detail, compared to the Hubble Space Telescope. They can see these
black holes through ripples called gravitational waves, which mess up space and time.

I think its amazing that there is more than one black hole at the center of some
galaxies, wouldnt they just be engulfed in each other? Or maybe they feed off of each
other to impact their host galaxies more. I found the last quote interesting, The end
goal is a self-consistent understanding of how two separate black holes that start out in
two interacting galaxies slowly get drawn closer to one another, impact their host
galaxies, emit gravitational waves and eventually merge to become one, in what is
predicted to be a violent event. The more we learn about black holes, the more we can
come to understand what keeps us spinning, what keeps us slowly sucked in towards
our black hole, and what the future holds for our planet. The fact that we can see black
holes because they generate ripples in the fabric of space, which are detectable across
the universe, is quite remarkable.
