Welcome Lincoln Elementary School

Parents
Thank you for coming this evening!!
We would like to introduce to you our new
School and Community Partnership
Program. Lincoln Elementary the
Communities School
Working Together is Our #1 Goal
Together with members, business, and
organizations of the community we have put
together activities through the school year
where we as a school together with different
organizations of Lincoln community to raise
money for our school and surrounding parks.
We would like the support of your child and
their family in these activities.
As an child
development
professional it is my role
to be a contact, advisor,
and an advocate for
your child and their
education and I believe
we can achieve great
things this year through
this new partnership.
Parenting can be hard, Just like
running a country but with a great
support system we can do it!!
Bronfrenbrenners Mesosystem
It is important that our students witness and be
apart of positive relationships with their
community. Bronfrenbrenners mesosystem
explains the importance of this cohesive
relationship and why this partnership between
our school and community is important to the
development of our students at this stage of
development.
Positive outcomes for Everyone!
We plan to follow the six types of
involvements called Epsteins Involvements.
Each type of involvement includes different
practices of partnerships that we as a school
and community can take part in.
TYPE 1--PARENTING:
Assist families with parenting and child-
rearing skills, understanding child and
adolescent development, and setting home
conditions that support children as students at
each age and grade level. Assist schools in
understanding families.

Type 2 Communicating
Communicate with families about school
programs and student progress through
effective school-to-home and home-to-school
communications. Much like tonight's meeting
we will be also inviting the community to all
school parent-teacher events.
Type 3 Volunteering
Lincoln Elementary has been great about
volunteering so we believe this practice will be
easy to continue.
Type 4 Learning at Home
We will Involve families with their children in
learning activities at home, including homework
and other curriculum-linked activities and
decisions. Parent involvement in their childs
work can be fun but it is a key part of their
development and learning.
Type 5 Decision Making
Like tonight we will continue to include families
and the community as participants in school
decisions, governance, and advocacy through
PTA, school councils, and committees.
Type 6 Collaborating with The
Community
This is the last and final involvement type.
Through this up and coming school year we plan
to coordinate resources and services for the
students, their families, and the community to
use.
Together we can achieve great things!!
