-Why am I having my students listen to this piece of music?
I am having my students listen to this because I think that it is something the
students may have never heard before and also because I think it will go well with
the assignment I am having the kids complete. It allows them to get creative.

-What curricular connections can I make?
There are many listening standards in the language arts area so this piece
can connect to a writing activity of some sort. It can also connect to an art standard
if you have the students listen to it and be creative.

-What would my objective be?
Students are able to listen to a piece of music and visualize and draw what is
going on if it were in a movie.

-Teaching Process: I will show some examples of movie clips with active music to
enhance the drama of what is going on in a movie so my students understand the
effects of music. I will then have the students listen to the piece I have chose and
give them a piece of paper that they can write or draw out what they think could be
happening in a movie. They can also name the movie whatever they would like. I
will replay the piece several times and in between those intervals, we will have a
class discussion and focus on each individual beat or instrument and share ideas as
to what could be happening, for ex. Someone running, hopping. I will have the
students stand up and actively do whatever they think would happen if this piece
were in a movie scene. I will ask what does this piece tell you when you listen to it??
They will be able to get as creative as they would like, with their drawing of a movie
scene and written description of a scene. This can connect to an art standard or a
language arts standard.
