Sbastien Ogier wins his 20

th
World Class
Victory

Sbastien Ogier took his 20
th
world class victory this weekend at Rally Italia-Sardegna resulting
in a new record for Volkswagen Motorsport of a 10 event unbeaten run. Despite being the first
car on day one, Ogier won the top-prize by almost a minute-and-a-half. Jari-Matti Latvala also
stood on the podium after leading from SS5 to SS12.

Although there was the present challenge of high heat, fine sand and dust, along with the usual
buried rocks and deep ruts Michelin partners only reported on puncture as a result of a large
impact. On the SS14, Osterberg was 3.2 seconds faster than his chaser which he attributed to
the four hard-compound Michelins and two soft tyres. He said, I think we made the right
choice by taking a combination of hard and soft tyres.
