OVERVIEW
WHAT IS EDMODO?
Edmodo is a web-based Learning Management
System that allows real time social networking with the
look and feel for the student very similar to Facebook.

Teachers can continue
classroom discussion online
Give polls to check for student
understanding
Create smaller groups within the
larger group
Award badges to individual
students based on performance
or behavior

Teachers can network with
administrators, students,
parents, publishers, and other
teachers
Edmodo's Library allows you to
upload and save every type of
imaginable document.
You can create layered folders
to allow a high degree of file
management, allowing for
storage and quick locating of
any documents used in the
program.

Edmodo has very robust communications features
and controls that ensure the teacher is making all
decisions about Edmodo communications within the
classroom
Teachers can measure student progress:
All grades and badges assigned are stored and
accessed easily.
Students level of understanding of content material
can be monitored through quizzes, discussions, and
posts.

You do not need to know a
great deal about Edmodo to
get the program up and
running in your classroom.
You can easily expand use
as you learn more about it
while still taking advantage
of the basic
communications, file
storage, assignment
generation, test creation,
and calendar use features.

With some of the other
programs, the basic features
are free and anything
beyond that requires a
monthly or annual fee.

-No Live Feature for Synchronous Collaboration
-Lacking Analytics Compared to Competitors
-Lack of ability to Format Text


Classroom Uses
Have students post and critique each others work.
Have students answer a teacher-created poll.
Have students work collaboratively and give each other
feedback.
