1. 3.9 IN. EYE RELIEF: The Razor
HD provides generous and

consistent eye relief at all magnifications for faster target acquisition
when shooting in a wide variety of positions and situations.
2A. OFFSET ILLUMINATION CONTROL: The control knob
features an "OFF" position between each intensity level so the
illuminated reticle can be turned on or off with a single click. Theres
no need to progress through every intensity level or return to zero with
multiple clicks in order to access a preferred illumination setting.
2B. OFFSET ILLUMINATION
KNOB POSITION: The position of the control
knob at a 45 angle on the left side of the
scopes eyepiece allows for easy adjustment
without blocking the view of turret, parallax
and magnification settings.
3. MAGVIEW SYSTEM:
A fiber optic magnification indicator (patent
pending), combined with raised rear-facing
magnification references on the zoom dial,
provides fast visual confirmation of magnification
from the shooting position in low light
conditions.
4. RADIUS BAR:
The Razor HDs patent-pending fiber optic turret
rotation indicator provides an easy-to-see
and tactile point of reference for counting
turret rotations in all light conditions.
5A. MATCHED TURRETS AND RETICLES: The subtensions on
MOA and mrad version reticles match the subtension markings on
the turrets to make range calculation and shooting adjustments
faster and more accurate.
5B. 125 MOA/36 MRAD WINDAGE AND ELEVATION: The Razor
HD offers an incredible 125 MOA / 36 mrad adjustment range for
both windage and elevation more than 25% greater than most
competitors. The greater adjustment range easily accommodates for
bullet drop at extreme ranges.
6. PARALLAX ADJUSTMENT: Located on the left side of the
turret housing, the parallax setting can be observed and adjusted
from the shooting position.

Zero Return) Zero Stop mechanism prevents
the turret from dialing below sight-in
range for fast, precise returns to zero
after temporary elevation corrections.
Once set, (during sight-in) the turret can
be quickly turned and stopped at the zero
setting without counting clicks. The
patent-pending rotational blocking steel mechanism is more reliable
and accurate than other systems that block the downward movement
of the turret. Completely sealed at all times, even when setting the
zero-stop position, all internal parts and components stay clean and
dry absolutely free of sand, dust, moisture and other foreign
material. After removing the turret cap, all that's required to reset
the mechanism for fast re-adjustment at the range or in the field is to
loosen three screws and adjust with the standard issue Allen wrench
included with the scope.
8. HARD ANODIZED FINISH: The hard-coat anodized finish features
a low-glare matte surface in Vortexs proprietary Stealth Shadow
Black color. This color absorbs less light than jet black so it is
more difficult to see in all light conditions.The hard-coat anodization

Illuminated center crosshairs:
To aid in low-light visibility, the center portion of the EBR mrad
reticle can be illuminated using the offset control knob located on
the left side of the Razor HDs eyepiece. The illumination offers
11 levels of intensity and has an OFF position between each
intensity level, allowing a shooter to instantly return to a
preferred brightness level. Illumination is powered by a long-life,
low-cost and easily-obtained CR2032 lithium battery.
Illuminated center crosshairs:
The patented EBR-556 (Enhanced Battle Reticle) is an illuminated,
glass-etched, first focal plane BDC (Bullet Drop Compensation) style
reticle calibrated for rapid shooting of 5.56mm (.223 Remington)
cartridges loaded with 55 grain bullets at both close and long
ranges. The true 1X power and the high-intensity illumination
level are ideal for CQB (Close Quarters Battle) applications.
When the magnification is dialed up, there is zero point of impact
shift, and easy-to-use drop reference lines indicate the correct
holdover for accurate shooting at ranges up to 700 yards.The reti-
cle also provides a quick windage reference for a 10 MPH crosswind
and a unique ranging feature based on average shoulder width.

The Viper
PST
SFP models include three long-range

riflescopes with a choice of mil (mrad) or MOA reticles
placed in the second focal plane, which offers constant
ideal reticle size for precision aiming. Each reticle
features Vortexs unique subtension multiplier markings

Calculator (LRBC) will quickly become a
favorite tool for serious long-range shooters.
This program is available to everyone, and enables
shooters to input and store information about
personal rifle loads and shooting conditions which
then permits customized drop charts to be
generated, viewed and printed. These drop charts
supply basic vital information about bullet drop
at long distances along with bullet wind drift
information.This information can be used for such
things as sighting in a load and applying the
proper bullet drops and wind corrections when
shooting at a distance.
The LRBC can also be used as an instructional
aid while not in the field, allowing shooters to
experiment with their favorite loads on-line and
see how they are affected by changing environ-
mental conditions such as temperatures, altitudes,
pressures, slopes and winds. For example, use the
LRBC before going on assignment in mountain-
ous terrain to see how the conditions there will
affect the flight of your bullet compared to your
sea level home.
There are many other helpful applications for the
LRBC, including fine-tuning the popular Vortex
Dead Hold BDC reticle and generating the ballistic
numbers required to build customized TMT
elevation turret caps for select Vortex riflescopes.

MOAVersus MRAD
Both minute-of-angle (MOA) and
milliradian (mrad) unit of arc
scales are effective when using
subtension measurements for
ranging and bullet trajectory drop
compensation in riflescope reticles.
MOA >MOA unit of arc measurements are based
on degrees and minutes. There are 360 degrees in a
circle and 60 minutes in a degree for a total of 21,600
minutes in a circle. A minute of angle will subtend 1.05
inches at a distance of 100 yards. Most riflescopes
using MOA adjustments will use 1/4-minute clicks which
subtend .26 inches at 100 yards.
MRAD > mrad unit of arc measurements are based on the radian.
A radian is the angle subtended at the center of a circle by an arc that
is equal in length to the radius of the circle. There are 6.283 radians
in a circle and 1000 milliradians in a radian for a total of 6283
milliradians (mrads) in a circle. An mrad will subtend 3.6 inches at a
distance of 100 yards. Most riflescopes using mrad adjustments will
use 1/10 mrad clicks which subtend .36 inches at 100 yards.
