Its GOOGOL, meaning 1 followed by 100 zeros.
So this led to the naming of the company
GOOGLE. Googles founders first named the
product as GOOGOL, but one of its funds person
mispelled and wrote it as GOOGLE in a cheque
meant to be given to the founders. So this
mispelling gave the name GOOGLE.

Founding:
Google was founded by Larry Page and
Sergey Brin , both were at doing PhD in
Stanford University at that time.
It was started as a research project by both of
them in the year 1996.
Initially they had the domain as
www.google.stanford.edu

was initially setup in a Friendss
