‘Ostinato’
Ostinato??
An Ostinato is a repeating pattern of notes.

In Pop Music it is called a ‘riff’


e.g. Michael Jacksons ‘Billie Jean’

In very old classical music it is called a ‘Ground


Bass’ e.g. the bass line to Pachelbel’s Canon.
