Be aware rattlesnakes and other common snakes may live in this area.

For Your Safety:

Stay on the path, keep pets leashed and never approach a snake.
Please give them distance and respect.
Snakes are important members of the natural community, helping to control rodent populations.
Snakes are ectothermic - their body
temperature is regulated by outside
temperatures. On cooler days or chilly
mornings, snakes may use the trail or other
exposed areas to bask and warm their bodies.

Head - at rest, broad, triangular
Body - heavy, or relatively fat in appearance
Tail - wide and blunt, ending with rattles

Body - relatively slim or narrow
Tail - tapers to a long, thin point (never with rattles)
