Our aim is to create a situation or an action, similar to a happening. The setup for this activity will be an unknown locality in New York. The approach is inspired by environmental and social aspects of art and design and wil reflect the values and behaviors of contemporary Nordic society. We will be moving in the borderline between art and design with focus on craft-production and especially on the glass material. Through the research of different occurring phenomenon with Finnish drinking culture we will create a situation, which offers the opportunity of spontaneous inter-cultural and local meetings. We believe it has great potential as a fresh and insightful perspective on Nordic glass interacting with major Metropolis dwellers. We believe it as a carrier of a humanistic and democratic design influenced by Nordic society. Our aim of a preferred situation is presence, intimacy and interactivity between participants and cultures.
