FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SEARCH ONGOING FOR FATAL SHOOTING SUSPECT AT NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY
Shortly after 4:00pm on July 9th, Deputies responded to a 911 call at the National Guard Armory
facility located on Highway 13 in Perry County between the town of Lobelville and the Town of Linden.
Deputies arrived to find one male victim suffering what what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the
chest. While deputies began securing the scene and immediately searching for the party responsible
for the shooting, the victim was placed under the care of Perry County EMS and later flown by
medical helicopter to Nashville for further treatment.
The victim, who is not being identified pending notification of family, was later pronounced deceased.
As of this writing, the Perry County Sheriffs Office and additional state and federal agencies are
conducting a vigorous investigation and search for a suspect. Our information indicates that the
suspect is described as a: White male, late teens to early 20s in age, last seen wearing a Grey
hooded sweatshirt, red shirt and blue jeans. His direction of travel is not known.
We urge our citizens to exercise caution while we work to apprehend this armed and dangerous
suspect.
Due to the devotion of our resources to this investigation, a formal press conference is not scheduled
at this time. We will release new details as soon as they are known, on our social media account
listed below.
