Topic: Gathering seeds in your writers notebook (Writing and Sketching)
Key concepts:
1. Writers collect and explore ideas in their writers notebooks.
2. Writers will list favorite food, movie, book, and quotation/saying.
3. Writers will use a graphic organizer in describing the sensory details for each of the
favorites.
Learning outcomes:
1. Students use their notebooks to collect information and ideas by writing, sketching,
and gluing/glueing in artifacts.
2. Students date each entry when they begin to write or sketch.
3. Students will use a graphic organizer (i.e., semantic map) to visualize their thoughts.
4. Students will learn how to use descriptive words through sensory details.
