7. Conclusions and Recommendations

This report adheres to municipal, provincial and federal regulations, such

that the development of this site will not result in adverse effects to the

downstream conveyance systems. The implementation of the proposed

conceptual SWM strategy and measures outlined in this report will ensure

that the natural habitat of the area is not disturbed in the long term and that

the sediment transported on site does not leave the site but rather is

contained within the downstream conveyance systems.

In conclusion the storm water management system of the Windsor border

crossing facility has been designed to minimize construction and

maintenance costs. Fill areas where actively minimized due to the difficulty

and cost of filling long and large surfaces. Design also assured that

neighboring runoff was diverted properly.

In addition to that the wet/ dry ponds have been configured and placed for

maintenance contingency such that they are easy to service. In addition to

that the system is intended to function using gravity; in such a way that

runoff is diverted with no artificial hydraulic or mechanical input.

All storm water management structures of the Windsor border crossing

plaza are built to follow Ministry Of the Environment and city of Windsor

guidelines. Meeting Quality and Quantity standards.

Due to the scale of the project, some storm water management structures

and storm water management designs have been omitted, namely the

Oilgrit separator, location of rip rap, Undergrounds diversion system and

storm water system for buildings.
