Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact

Rationale/Reflection
InTASC Standard:
Brief Description of Evidence:
Standard #1: Learner Development
The teacher understands how learners grow and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning
and development vary individually within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional,
and physical areas, and designs and implements developmentally appropriate and challenging
learning experiences.

Analysis of What I Learned:
Through compiling a list of educational websites, I found a few of the endless resources teachers
could use for multiple students learning abilities and styles. The three websites used is a
narrowed down version that I felt were the top choices. After utilizing the websites with
children, I learned that students do not always have similar interest in the websites.

How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the InTASC Standard:
I show my competence in this standard by understanding that not all students grow and develop
in the same way. I can utilize these websites, along with many more, to cater to each student.
This allows me a way to help struggling students, while allowing excelling students to challenge
themselves further at the same time. The students can and will vary cognitively, linguistically,
socially, emotionally, and physically. By understanding this I can use the compilation of
websites and the understanding that there are many more resources to be used in a classroom to
ensure the success of the students.
