ٍ َِ! ٍة َو# ِ$ ِ آََُوا
َ ِ َ ِ ا
2. But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in Self-glory and Separatism.
ن
ٍ َْ& ' (ِ)ِ*ْ+َ& ِ' َ,ْ-َ*ْآَ(ْ َأه
3. How many generations before them did We destroy?
٣ ص
ٍ َ,َ'
َ 0ِ1 ت
َ َ َ َدوْا َو,َ
In the end they cried (for mercy) -- when there was no longer time for being saved!
' ِذآِْيU
T َ! ِ ْ(َُْ ه
But they are in doubt concerning My (own) Message!
٨ ب
ِ ََا$ ا:ُ& َُوLَ َْ
Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment!
U
َ َرCِ َLْ1 َر
ُ ِWَا#َQ ْ(ُهAَ ,ِ$ َْأم
9. Or have they the Treasures of the Mercy of thy Lord --
٩ ب
ِ ه:َ ْ ا#ِ ِ#َEْ ا
the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure!
١٠ ب
ِ َ+ْ=َKْ ا ِ ا:ََُْﺕ0ْ*َ
If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)!

ِ َا#ْ1َKْ ا
َ ' ٌُوم#ْ)َ' U
َ ِ َ,ٌُ ' هA,ُ9
11. But there -- will be put to flight even a host of confederates.
Cِ َ-ْ`َ ب ا
ُ َaْJطٍ َوَأ:ُ ْ ُم:َ& ُد َو:ُLَcَو
13. And Thamud, and the People of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood;
١٣ ب
ُ َا#ْ1َKْ اU
َ ِdَ ُْأو
such were the Confederates.
١٤ ب
ِ َِ$ M
َaَ َ ُ=7 ب ا
َ َ ِإ آe ُإِن آ
14. Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My Punishment came justly and inevitably
(on them).

١٥ ق
ٍ َا:َ ِ' َ)َ ' ًةAَ ِ1 وَاCً َaْ0َJ َ ء ِإfُ َُ ُ هg,َ َ'َو
15. These (to-day) only wait for a single mighty Blast, which (when it comes) will brook no delay.
١٦ ب
ِ َ[ِaْ ْ ِم ا:َ َ ْ+َ& َ,Nِ& َ, ;َ$ َ,َا ر:ُ َ&َو
16. They say:
"Our Lord! Hasten to us our sentence (even) before the Day of Account!"
١٨ ق
ِ !َْاiِ ْ وَا
ِFَEْ ِ
َ ْa+َ[ُ Sُ َEَ'
in unison with him, Our Praises, at eventide and at break of day.
٢٠ ب
ِ َNِhْ ْ َ اjَ َوCَ َLْ-ِaْ اkُ َ,ْ0َ وَﺕSُ َ-ْ*ُ' َدْﻥAَ َ!َو
20. We strengthened his kingdom, and gave him wisdom and sound judgement in speech and
decision.
٢١ ب
َ َْاaِLْ رُوا ا: َ[َْ ِ( ِإذْ ﺕjَhْ ُ اKَ+َك ﻥ
َ ََوهَْ َأﺕ
21. Has the Story of the Disputants reached thee?
Behold, they climbed over the wall of the private chamber;
ْ(ُ)ْ,ِ' ع
َ #ِ ََ دَاوُو َدIَ*َ$ ا:ُ*َQِإذْ َد
22. When they entered the presence of David, and he was terrified of them,

ٍ ْEَ Iَ*َ$ َ,ُpْEَ Iَqَ ن
ِ َLْjَQ
We are two disputants, one of whom has wronged the other:

َaْ ِ َ,َ,ْ0َ (ُ-ْ1 َ
decide now between us with truth,
٢٣ ب
ِ َNِhْ ﻥِ ِ ا# َ$)َ َو0ِ,ْ*ََِْ َل َأآ
Yet he says, 'Commit her to my care,' and is (moreover) harsh to me in speech."

ٍ ْEَ Iَ*َ$ ْ(ُ)ُpْEَ ِqْ+َ0َ َ ءNَ*ُhْ ًا 'ْ ا0ِuَن آ
َوِإ
truly many are the Partners (in business) who wrong each other:
٢٤ ب
َ ًَ َوَأﻥEَِ رَاآQ َوSُ َْ َ َرqَHْ= َ
he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in
repentance).

َ ِ َذSُ َ َََْﻥqَ
25. So We forgave him this (lapse):
٢٥ ب
ٍ Dَ'
َ ْ[ُ1 َوIَْ #ُ َ َﻥAَ ,ِ$ Sُ َ ن
َوِإ
he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful place of (final) Return.
ض
ِ َْرKْ ِ اCً َ0ِ*َQ ك
َ َ,ْ*َEَ9 َ دَاوُو ُد ِإﻥ
26. O David!
We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth:

َaْ ِ س
ِ , ا
َ ْ0َ (ُ-ْ1 َ
so judge thou between men in truth (and justice):

Sِ * ِ ا0ِ+َ= َ$ U
َ *ِpُ0َ َى:َ)ْ اsِ ِ+Hََو َ ﺕ
nor follow thou the lusts (of thy heart), for they will mislead thee from the Path of Allah:
٢٦ ب
ِ َ[ِaْ ْ َم ا:َ ا:ُ[ََ ﻥLِ
for that they forget the Day of Account.
آََُوا
َ ِ ا

َ ِ َذ
That were the thought of Unbelievers!
٢٧ ِر, ا
َ ِ' آََُوا
َ ِ* ٌْ:َ َ
But woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)!
ض
ِ َْرKْ ِ ا
َ ِAِ[ُْLْ َت آ
ِ َaِ j ا ا:ُ*ِLَ$ا َو:ُ,َ'
َ ِ َ ُ اEْ;ََأمْ ﻥ
28. Shall We treat those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the same as those who do
mischief on earth?
ٌَ َرك+ُ' U
َ ْ0َ ِإkُ َ,ْ #َ َ بٌ أَﻥHِآ
29. (Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings,
٢٩ ب
ِ َ+ْ َKْ ا ا:ُ َْ َآ َ ُأوHَ0ِ َوSِ ُِوا َ ﺕA َ0
that they may meditate on its Signs,
and that men of understanding may receive admonition.
ن
َ َLْ0َ*ُ= َاوُو َدAِ َ,ْ+ََو َوه
30. To David We gave Solomon (for a son) --
Aُ ْ+َEْ ْ َ( اEِﻥ
how excellent in Our service!
٣١ َ ُد0ِ;ْ ت ا
ُ َ,ِ j ا
ِFَEْ ِ Sِ ْ0َ*َ$ ض
َ ِ ُ$ ِْإذ
31. Behold, there were brought before him, at eventide, coursers of the highest breeding; and
swift of foot;

َ ِذآْ ِ َر$ ِ ْ0َhْ اy
ُ1 ^
ُ ْ+َ+ْ1ََ لَ ِإﻥ َأ
32. And he said, "Truly do I love the love of Good, with a view to the glory of my Lord,"
٣٢ ب
ِ َ;ِaْ ِ َْا َرت:َ ﺕIHَ1
until (the sun) was hidden in the veil (of Night):
َ*َ$ َوه7ُرد
33. "Bring them back to me."
٣٣ ق
ِ َ,ْ$َKْ ق وَا
ِ :7[ ِ ًaْ[َ' M
َ َِNَ
Then began he to pass his hand over (their) legs and their necks.
٣٤ ب
َ َُ ( َأﻥc
but he did turn (to Us in true devotion):
٣٥ ب
ُ ه:َ ْ ^ ا
َ أَﻥU
َ ِإﻥ
for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure)."

َ اSُ َ َْﻥhَ[َ
36. Then We subjected the Wind to his power,
٣٦ ب
َ َJ| َأ
ُ ْ0َ1 َ ءQ ُرkِ ِ ْ'َKِ ﺕَ;ِْي
to flow gently to his order, whithersoever he willed --
٣٧ ص
ٍ ا:َz ء َو,َ ُ آ
َ 0ِx َ0F وَا
37. As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver --
٣٩ ب
ٍ َ[ِ1 ِ ْ0َqِ ْUِ[ْ'ُْ َأوْ َأ,ْ' َ
whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked."

٤٠ ب
ٍ Dَ'
َ ْ[ُ1 َوIَْ #ُ َ َﻥAَ ,ِ$ Sُ َ ن
َوِإ
40. And he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful Place of (final) Return.
ب
َ :7ﻥَ َأAَ ْ+َ$ ُْوَاذْآ
41. Commemorate Our servant Job,
٤١ ب
ٍ ََا$ َوy
ٍ ْjُ,ِ ن
ُ َNْ0F ا
َ ِ,[َ' َأﻥSُ َِإذْ ﻥَ دَى ر
behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering"!

َ ِ*ْ9ِ ِ ْoُارْآ
42. (The command was given:)
"Strike with thy foot:
٤٣ ب
ِ َ+ْ َKْ ُوْ ِ اKِ َو ِذآَْى
and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding.
ًuْqِك ﺽ
َ Aِ َ0ِ ُْQَو
44. "And take in thy hand a little grass,
ب
َ :ُْEَ َوM
َ َaْ= َ( َوِإ0َِ َدﻥَ إَْاه+ِ$ ُْوَاذْآ
45. And commemorate Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
٤٦ ا ِرA ِذآَْى اCٍ َjِ َhِ (َُ ه,ْjَ*ْQِإﻥ َأ
46. Verily We did chose them for a special (purpose) --
proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter.

٤٧ َ ِر0ْQَKْ ا
َ ْ0ََNْjُLْ ا
َ ِLَ َﻥAَ ,ِ$ ْ(ُ)َوِإﻥ
47. They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good.
ٌْهََا ِذآ
49. This is a Message (of admonition):
٤٩ ب
ٍ Dَ'
َ ْ[ُaَ
َ 0ِHُLْ*ِ ن
َوِإ
and verily, for the Righteous, is a beautiful place of (final) Return. --
٥٠ ب
ُ َا:َْKْ )ُ ُ( اCً َaHَ7' ن
ٍ ْAَ$ ت
ِ ,َ9
50. Gardens of Eternity, whose doors will (ever) be open to them;
٥١ ب
ٍ َ ٍة َو!ََا0ِuَ آCٍ َ)ِ)َ َِ آ0ِ ن
َ :ُ$ْAَ َ)0ِ
َ 0ِdِ-Hُ'
51. Therein will they recline (at ease);
therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink;
٥٣ ب
ِ َ[ِaْ ْ ِم ا:َ0ِ ن
َ ُوAَ$:ُهََا 'َ ﺕ
53. Such is the promise made to you for the Day of Account!
هََا
55. Yea, such!
٥٥ ب
ٍ Dَ' َFَ
َ 0ِz N*ِ ن
َوِإ
But -- for the wrongdoers will be an evil place of (final) Return!
(َ ,َ)َ9
56. Hell! --
َ)َْﻥ:َ*ْjَ
they will burn therein --

٥٦ ِ)َ ُدLْ ا
َ ْdِ+َ
an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)! --
هََا
57. Yea, such! --
ْ(ِ)ِ ً+َ1َْ' َ
No welcome for them!
ِ٦١ ر, ًْ ِ اEََِاً ﺽ$ kُ ْد#ِ َ َ هََا,َ َمA َ& َ' َ,ا َر:ُ َ&
61. They will say:
"Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double Penalty in the fire!"
٦٣ َ ُرjَْKْ ْ)ُ ُ( ا,َ$ ْ^َzْ ِ َأمْ زَاhِ= ْ(َُْﻥَ هhَأﺕ
63. "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?"

٦٤ ِر, ُ ُ( َأهْ ِ اJ َhَ ﺕM
e َaَ U
َ ِ ن َذ
ِإ
64. Truly that is just and fitting, the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire!
٦٨ ن
َ :ُْ ِﺽEُ' Sُ ْ,َ$ ْ(ُHأَﻥ
68. "From which ye do turn away!
٦٩ ن
َ :ُLِjَHْhَ ْ ِإذIَ*ْ$َKْ اiِ َ*َLْ ِ (ٍ ْ*ِ$ ِْ' ِ ن
َ َ'َ آ
69. "No knowledge have I of the Chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves.
٧١
ٍ 0ِx ِ' ًَاFَ ٌMِ َQ ِإﻥCِ َ-ِW َ*َLْ*ِ U
َ 7ِإذْ &َ َل َر
71. Behold, thy Lord said to the angels:
"I am about to create man from clay:
٧٢
َ ِAِ9 َ= Sُ َ ا:ُEََ ِ1و7 'ِ رSِ 0ِ ^
ُ ْhََ وَﻥSُ ُHْ: َ= ذَاiِ َ
72. "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye
down in obeisance unto him."
٧٣ ن
َ :ُEَLْ9)ُ(ْ َأ7*ُ آCُ َ-ِW َ*َLْ اAَ َ;َ[َ
73. So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together;

َ 0ِ*ِْإ ِإ
74. Not so Iblis:
٧٤
َ ِِ َ-ْ ن 'ِْ ا
َ ََ َ َوآ+ْ-َHْ=ا
he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith.
ي
Aَ َ0ِ ^
ُ َْ*َQ َLِ Aَ ُ;ْ[َ أَن ﺕU
َ َEَ,َ' َ'
ُ 0ِ*ْ&َ َل َ ِإ
75. (Allah) said:
"O Iblis!
what prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with My hands?
٧٥
َ 0ِ َEْ ا
َ ِ' ^
َ ,ُت َأمْ آ
َ َْ+ْ-َHْ=َأ
Art thou haughty?
Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?"
٧٦
ٍ 0ِx ِ' Sُ َHَْ*َQِ 'ِ ﻥ ٍر َو,َHَْ*َQ
Thou createdst me from fire, and him Thou createdst from clay."
٧٨
ِ A ْ ِم ا:َ Iَ ِ ِإHَ,ْEَ U
َ ْ0َ*َ$ ن
َوِإ
78. "And My Curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgement."
٧٩ ن
َ :ُuَEْ+ُ ْ ِم:َ Iَ ِْﻥِ ِإgَﻥKَ ب
&َ َل َر
79. (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."
٨٠
َ َِg,ُLْ ا
َ ِ' U
َ ﻥiِ َ &َ َل
80. (Allah) said:
"Respite then is granted thee --
٨١ ِم:ُ*ْEَLْ ^ ا
ِ ْ&:َ ْ ْ ِم ا:َ Iَ ِإ
81. "Till the day of the Time Appointed."
٨٢
َ 0ِEَLْ9)ُ(ْ َأ,َ:ِ ْzُKَ U
َ ِﺕ# ِEِ+َ &َ َل
82. (Iblis) said:
"Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong --

َ 0ِjَ*ْhُLْ ْ)ُ ُ( ا,ِ' ك
َ َ َد+ِ$ ِإ
83. "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy grace)."
٨٥
َ 0ِEَLْ9ْ)ُ(ْ َأ,ِ' U
َ َEِ+َ ﺕLِ' َوU
َ ,ِ' (َ ,َ)َ9 ن
َKَ*ْ'َKَ
85. "That I will certainly fill Hell with thee and those that follow thee -- every one."
٨٦
َ 0ِ*َ-َHُLْ ا
َ ِ' ََو'َ َأﻥ
nor am I a pretender.
٨٧
َ 0ِLَ َEْ* ٌْ ِإ ِذآ:َ ُِإنْ ه
87. "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds.
٨٨
ٍ 0ِ1 Aَ ْEَ kُ َKَ+َ ﻥ
ُLَ*ْEَHَ َو
88. "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while."
