The Ceremony for the Officiating of HOTS/KBAT

A bright and sunny day? Thankfully.

January the 27
th
started as any other Monday at SMK Seafield would have, with the usual
morning assembly, inclusive of the singing of the national and state anthems, as well as our
spirited school song. After the pledges and prayers had been completed, thus began the ceremony
for the officiating of the HOTS - or Kemahiran Berfikir Aras Tinggi (KBAT) - program.
A lovely speech by our principal, Datin Hajah Zaleha, welcomed the guest of honour for
the ceremony, Yang Berbahagia Tuan Hj Mohamed Ghazali B. Hamzah AMS, PPT, JCP,
Pegawai Pendidikan Daerah Petaling Perdana, who continued the assembly with a speech of his
own concerning this excellent program. Booklets regarding the implementation of this new
program were handed out to the teachers present. Soon after, the event was officiated with the
opening of a large box, releasing colourful confetti from party poppers. A sketch from a few
prefects followed suit, as a number of teachers and officials headed off to the Wall of Aces for its
monumental grand opening. Finally, the ceremony closed with a short quizzing session for the
students with the usage of HOTS/KBAT-related questions, encompassing the speed of sound,
Dato Maharaja Lela, and spoilt milk. All in all, it was smoothly-executed ceremony, which left
everyone with crystal clear understanding about what HOTS/KBAT is really about.
