January the 27 th started as any other Monday at SMK Seafield would have, with the usual morning assembly, inclusive of the singing of the national and state anthems, as well as our spirited school song. After the pledges and prayers had been completed, thus began the ceremony for the officiating of the HOTS - or Kemahiran Berfikir Aras Tinggi (KBAT) - program. A lovely speech by our principal, Datin Hajah Zaleha, welcomed the guest of honour for the ceremony, Yang Berbahagia Tuan Hj Mohamed Ghazali B. Hamzah AMS, PPT, JCP, Pegawai Pendidikan Daerah Petaling Perdana, who continued the assembly with a speech of his own concerning this excellent program. Booklets regarding the implementation of this new program were handed out to the teachers present. Soon after, the event was officiated with the opening of a large box, releasing colourful confetti from party poppers. A sketch from a few prefects followed suit, as a number of teachers and officials headed off to the Wall of Aces for its monumental grand opening. Finally, the ceremony closed with a short quizzing session for the students with the usage of HOTS/KBAT-related questions, encompassing the speed of sound, Dato Maharaja Lela, and spoilt milk. All in all, it was smoothly-executed ceremony, which left everyone with crystal clear understanding about what HOTS/KBAT is really about.
