A RESOLUTION BANNING
"SUPERDELEGATES"

WHEREAS, A fundamental principle of equality in this country is "One Person - One

Vote;" and

WHEREAS, the National Democratic Party has seen fit to endow certain of its members
with a privileged status commonly called "Super Delegates;" and

WHEREAS, those Super Delegates are allowed to vote both in the regular Primary
Election and again with the equivalent of hundreds of votes at the Party's National
Convention, whether or not they were elected as Delegates; and

WHEREAS, such a practice works to subvert the Will of the People who constitute the
Democratic Party, as their Will is expressed in local elections and caucuses; and

WHEREAS, this practice gives multiple votes to an elite group, and contradicts ow
cherished value of One Person - One Vote; and

WHEREAS, this practice undermines the process for selecting the Party's true candidate,
which should be decided upon ONLY as he or she is voted in by the regular, elected
Delegates to the National Convention;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

THAT the Candidates of the Party shall be determined by the regular, elected Delegates
to the National Convention EXCLUSIVELY, as the same are determined by local,
county, and state elections and caucuses;

THAT the Democratic Party shall never employ any system other than "One Person -
One Vote" in the selection of its Candidates to Office.
