For three IRA sub-standards, I have listed ways in which I support teachers and paraprofessionals.
IRA Standard 3.1 Administering and Interpreting Assessments Provide DRA2 Recalibration at Collaborative Team meetings Administer the DRA2 to students of teachers not yet train in the DRA2 Assist K teachers in administering the DRA2 Word Analysis Assist K teachers in scoring and analyzing the DRA2 Assist K-6 teachers in scoring and analyzing the DRA2 Assist 3-6 teachers in learning how to administer Words Their Way Spelling Inventories Facilitate Monthly Reading Progress Data Dialogue at Collaborative Team meetings
IRA Standard 5.1 Selecting Materials That Match Reading Levels, Interests, Cultural & Linguistic Background Support teachers in using assessment data to select reading materials Work with new teachers to help them become familiar with the organization of our Book Room Work with teachers to obtain and organize materials for supportive classroom libraries Assist teachers in understanding and administering Interest Inventories to students Assist teachers in selecting a variety of books for Interactive Read Alouds Work with the Media Specialist to select a variety of books that match the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of our students When meeting with K-6 teams, give mini Book Talks on books that match the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of our students
